Jelena Gazivoda, IBA European Regional Forum (ERF) Council Member for Serbia
1. What does being European mean to you?
Being European, to me, is a matter of identity – one rooted in a deep commitment to democratic values, a genuine understanding of diversity and a profound respect for differences. It means ensuring equal opportunities for all who are open-minded, professionally driven, and dedicated to progress and continuous improvement. It is about fostering stability, solidarity, sustainability, cooperation and mutual trust. Although we (Serbia) are still far from joining the EU, I see it as our natural direction and the place where we truly belong.
2. What would you like to accomplish in the ERF in 2025?
In 2025, through the ERF, I aim to deepen my involvement and dedication, embrace the benefits of multicultural and multijurisdictional perspectives, stay informed about new trends, developments and hot topics, enhance my knowledge and expertise, and have a great time. I look forward to further strengthening my skills while enjoying meaningful connections with like-minded professionals who share the same values and interests.
3. Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I used to paint years ago, but I put it on hold to focus entirely on my doctoral studies – now is the time for a comeback. I also love traveling (to parts of the world I’ve never visited before), learning new languages (currently, I am improving my Italian), exploring transactional analysis, constellations and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), spending quality time with friends and staying active through sports.
